“What the mind suppresses, the body expresses”

As a therapist, I am fully committed to working on my own ‘stuff’ by continuously learning, reading and trying lots of different therapies to keep myself in balance and to add to my own experience and knowledge. I discovered Kinesiology in Summer 2017 for ongoing health problems that nothing else had quite managed to shift and I have been fascinated by it ever since.

Systematic Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that uses simple muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body (we all have them). Your body never lies and it is constantly sending you signals about what is right or wrong for it – we can get very good at mis-reading or simply ignoring these signals by overriding our instincts. We are told to ‘just get on with it’ when we are ill or pop some pills to mask the pain/symptoms instead of asking why might I be experiencing these symptoms? What could I be doing differently? Maybe my body needs something or simply just to rest?

The muscles tests used are a way of communicating directly with the body. Different muscles relate to different organs in the body. It has nothing to do with strength, even top athletes will have some weak muscles. When a ‘weak’ muscle is found it does not mean that there is a problem with that organ but that the energy (Chi) is not flowing as well as it could be in that system. Once these imbalances are identified there are many ways of supporting the body and correcting the imbalances including; releasing emotions stored in the body, acupressure massage, energetic work and looking at nutritional support.

Why do imbalances occur in the body? For many reasons! Including, but not limited to;

  • Emotions
  • Stressful experiences
  • Food sensitivities
  • Negative thoughts
  • Poor digestion
  • Inadequate nutrition
  • Lack of sleep
  • Dehydration

When the body is regularly balanced it can effectively heal itself. The treatments are always working on the whole person as primarily a preventative measure but can also provide relief for ongoing problems that have not been able to be treated medically.

I have completed Balanced Health Foundation Level 1-6 Kinesiology. I hope to be continuing on to the Advanced Professional Practitioner Level in September 2018. I am an Associate Member of Association of Systematic Kinesiology.

Please get in touch to book an appointment. Your treatment time is valuable and reserved just for you.
Kinesiology sessions require a high level of energy and focus, and I book only a very limited number of appointments each day and many weeks in advance. Where possible, you always need to provide at least 48 hours notice to change your appointment.
